Sharon Yvonne Stone was born on the 10th of March of 1958 in Meadville, Pennsylvania, to the accountant Dorothy Lawson and tool and die maker as well as former worker in the factory Joseph William Stone II. Michael, Kelly and Patrick are her three siblings. Stone was regarded as an academically gifted as a child and began the second grade when she was five. She graduated from Saegertown High School located in Saegertown, Pennsylvania, in 1975. Stone also participated for Saegertown's Miss Pennsylvania beauty pageant, and was crowned Miss Crawford County. Stone was able to move to New Jersey with her aunt New Jersey, where she pursued a career in modeling. In the following month, Stone signed up at the Ford Modeling Agency. Then, she relocated into Europe and spent the whole year in Milan as well as Paris. Stone was disillusioned by the fashion industry in Europe she decided to focus on acting instead. She appeared at 20 in Woody Allen's "Stardust Memories," the film which got mixed reviews.
